Anglo Saxon Kiln Project – things are hotting up!

Last week saw a lot of activity on site centered around the kiln project. The team worked to hard to assemble the structure and prepare the linings of the kiln.

HoH volunteers and the East Anglian Potters worked together to make the clay slabs that will be used to shape the dome roof of the kiln.

The kiln needs to be gently fired to allow the structure to dry out a bit.

Duncan uses green hazel sticks to provide a basis for the dome structure top.
